Saturday 17 October · 6pm-9pm · Bayswater, Melbourne
(exact address sent to ticket holders)
Dearest reader, you're invited.
Picture this. You walk through the door, someone hands you a mocktail, and within five minutes you're laughing with a stranger about which High Lord ruined you for all other men.
No pressure to perform. No small talk about work. Just a room full of women who read the spicy chapters twice and aren't sorry about it.
A Court of Pleasure is an ACOTAR-inspired night for women in Melbourne who love smut, love romance, or are ready to feel more at home in their own bodies. It's part book club, part party, part nervous system reset.
What's happening on the night:
Costumes encouraged, never required.
Come as a High Lady, a Illyrian warrior, or in your comfiest jeans.
A body oil making station.
Blend your own scent and take it home. Sensory, a bit sexy, entirely yours.
Food and mocktails
To graze, sip and gossip over.
Games and sexy prizes up for grabs.
Competitive streaks welcome. 😈
Bookish friends, on tap.
You'll leave with new people to text.
A goodie bag
Packed with treats from:

Why I created this
I started reading ACOTAR after my first big breakup, when I came home from my own Eat, Pray, Love moment. Somewhere in A Court of Wings and Ruin, I met the man who's now my partner.
That series showed me how I want to be treated, how I want to feel, and that I genuinely love romance. No apology. I'm also a sex coach who works with women on pleasure, somatics and nervous system regulation, and smut has always been one of the safest doors women walk through to find their own desire.
So I thought: what if we walk through it together, on purpose, with snacks and sexy surprises?
How it will feel
Warm. Playful. A little bit cheeky. The kind of night where your shoulders drop an inch without you noticing.
You're not here to be impressive. You're here to enjoy yourself, be around women who understand, and let your body be part of the evening instead of something you drag along behind you. If you've spent years feeling guilty or awkward about what you read, want or feel, this is a room where that gets to soften.
Your nervous system is going to love this one.
Come as you are. Leave with a little more spark.
Smut-loving, romance-obsessed, curious, nervous, new to Melbourne, long-time book girl, all welcome. I'll save you a seat, and a mocktail.
With love and a little spice,
Emily 🖤

But What If...
-
Most people are. Honestly, that's half the fun. Everyone's there to meet people, and I'll make sure you're not left holding your mocktail awkwardly in a corner. (Plus there’s a court quiz to find your people)
-
You will by the end of the night. Bookish friends are the whole point. And I’ll let you in on a little secret- I personally haven’t known anyone that’s come to our first two Sunday Smut Clubs
-
Totally fine. If you've read one book, half a book, or just watched the TikToks and got curious, you belong here.
-
Then don't. Costumes are a delight, not a requirement. Come as you are.
Whatever makes you feel good will be celebrated
-
You don't have to be. Nothing here is about performing or proving anything. If you love books, you're welcome. If you're curious about feeling more comfortable in your body, you're welcome.
-
That's normal, and the night is designed to ease you in gently, with activities to do with your hands and plenty of easy conversation starters.
-
It's a smut book club night with a pleasure-positive heart. Fun, flirty and respectful. Nobody will be put on the spot or asked to do anything they don't want to.
