Sunday Smut Club: Melbourne's Smutty Book Club with a Somatic Twist
A women's space for spicy reads, honest conversations, and a whole lot of pleasure education. Monthly — alternating between online and Melbourne in-person.
What if your book club left you feeling more connected — to your body, your pleasure, and a community of women who actually get it?
Pleasure Pages Collective hosts Sunday Smut Club — a monthly gathering for women and vulva owners who love erotic fiction, romance, and spicy reads, and want to go a little deeper than just the story.
Each month we read together, discuss together, and weave in somatic practices and pleasure education led by sex coach and educator Emily Matthews. No nudity, no genital touch — just a genuinely warm, shame-free space to explore what these books stir up in you.
What Happens at a Sunday Smut Club Night?
The Book
Each month we pick a spicy read together — think erotic fiction, smutty romance, romantasy, and everything in between. You'll get the pick in advance so you can come ready to dish.
The Discussion
We go beyond "did you like it?" — Emily brings her sex educator lens to the conversation, exploring what the book brings up around desire, pleasure, bodies, and sexuality. Honest, curious, zero judgment.
The Somatic Layer
Each night includes a short somatic practice — breath, movement, or body-based awareness — to help you connect with what you're feeling, not just thinking. This is what makes Sunday Smut Club unlike any other book club you've been to.
This is for you if…
You love a spicy book but have no one to actually talk about it with
You're curious about your sexuality and want a gentle, educational space to explore
You want community with other women who are open, funny, and refreshingly un-awkward about sex
You're working on reconnecting with your body and your pleasure
You've always wanted a book club that actually goes there
Who this is not for: men, or anyone looking for a sexual experience. Sunday Smut Club is a women's and vulva owners' space — warm, boundaried, and deeply safe.
How It Works: Virtual & Melbourne In-Person
Sunday Smut Club runs monthly, alternating between online via Zoom and in-person in Melbourne — so whether you're local or elsewhere, there's a night for you.
Virtual Nights
Melbourne In-Person Nights
Join from your couch, your bed, or anywhere you're comfortable. Online sessions are open to women across Australia (and beyond). All you need is the book and a snack.
Held in Melbourne's inner suburbs — a cosy, intimate space where you can put a face to the name and share a drink with your fellow smut enthusiasts. Location details sent to ticket holders.
Both formats include the full experience: book discussion, sex education conversation, and a somatic practice to close.

Your Host: Emily Matthews
Emily is a Melbourne-based sex coach, educator, and unapologetic lover of smutty fiction. She founded Pleasure Pages Collective because she wanted a space where women could talk about spicy books and actually learn something about their sexuality along the way.
Emily brings warmth, curiosity, and a decade of experience in space holding to every session. She's not here to lecture — she's here to make the conversation richer, weirder, and more useful than your average book club.

Most book clubs stop at "I liked it / didn't like it." Sunday Smut Club goes deeper — Emily's background as a sex coach and educator means we explore what the book brings up around desire, bodies, and sexuality, plus a short somatic practice each session to help you actually feel into those themes. There's nothing else like it in Melbourne.
